| SOY – DID YOU KNOW?
One tablespoon
of Soy Oil contains more estrogen than 5 whole roasts
of beef – even from animals raised with conventional
use of growth hormones.
The estrogen levels
present in a 6-ounce serving of beef from a treated
animal is approximately 3.8 ng. (nanograms). Furthermore,
the amount of estrogen present in a 6-ounce serving
of beef from a non-treated animal is approximately
2.6 ng. Beef is not the only
food product that contains hormones. Many
foods that we eat every day contain hormones, too.
For example, four ounces of cabbage contains 2,700
ng of estrogen. A glass of milk contains 34 ng.
One tablespoon of soybean oil contains 28,370 ng
of estrogen—that’s almost 7,500 times the amount
of estrogen present in a 6-ounce piece of meat from
treated cattle!
Phyto estrogens
that disrupt endocrine function and are potent anti-thyroid
agents are present in soy, including the potentially
devastating isoflavone Genistein. Infants exclusively
fed soy-based formula have 13,000 to 22,000 times
more estrogen compounds in their blood than babies
fed milk-based formula, the estrogenic equivalent
of at least five birth control pills per day. Premature
development of girls has been linked to the use
of soy formula, as has the underdevelopment of males.
Infant soy formula has been linked to autoimmune
thyroid disease.
Soy is linked to infertility, breast cancer,
hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, and many other disorders..
VITAMIN D NOW RECCOMMEDED
The findings of a collection of 18 studies
analyzed in September 2007 involving people over
the age of 50 found that those who took at least
500 international units (IU) of vitamin D daily
had a seven per cent lower risk of death.
Lead researcher Dr. Philippe Autier suggested
that Vitamin D may block cancer cell proliferation
or improve blood vessel
and immune system functions. The study reviewed
research involving 57,311 participants. In June
2007, the Canadian Cancer Society said that based
on current research adults should consider increasing
their daily dosage of vitamin D. The society said
Canadians should now consume 1,000 IU of vitamin
D daily during the fall and winter months, in consultation
with a health-care provider. Some providers suggest
a regular daily amount of 2,000 IU..

COFFEE FACTS!
Coffee is probably the most popular drink
among Canadians.
Most of us jump start our day with a fresh
hot cup of coffee! While some reports state
that a little coffee can have surprising health
benefits there are some negative effects.
-
Enhances stress - Excessive consumption of coffee
raises anxiety levels, which leads to more stress.
The caffeine ‘jitters’ can also prevent
us from sleeping well at night.
-
Excessive coffee drinking increases heart attack
risk
-
Coffee increases blood pressure and obviously
stresses your heart. The heart is designed
to beat for around 130 years yet few of us will
ever live that long and some less than half that.
-
Coffee can lead to sterility
-
Coffee can reduce sperm count.
-
Stomach problems - Coffee can disturb the stomach
as it irritates the lining of the stomach. This
is, again, the case of heavy coffee drinkers.
-
Coffee Doubles the Risk of Miscarriage!
Pregnant
women drinking more than two cups of coffee daily
double their risk of miscarriage. In a study of
over 1000 women, those drinking 200mg or more of
caffeine daily (this means at least two regular
cups of coffee or five 12 oz (300 mg) cans of caffeinated
drink) doubled their miscarriage risk, compared
to women who did not consume caffeine..

U.S. Concedes
Vaccine - Autism Case in Federal Court
After
years of insisting there is no evidence to link
vaccines with the onset of autism spectrum disorder
(ASD), the US government has quietly conceded a
vaccine-autism case in the Court of Federal Claims.
The unprecedented concession was filed on November
9, and sealed to protect the plaintiff's identify.
It was obtained through individuals unrelated to
the case.
The
claim, one of 4,900 autism cases currently pending
in Federal "Vaccine Court," was conceded by US Assistant
Attorney General Peter Keisler and other Justice
Department officials, on behalf of the Department
of Health and Human Services, the "defendant" in
all Vaccine Court cases.
The child's claim against the government-
that mercury-containing vaccines were the cause
of her
autism-
was supposed to be one of three "test cases" for
the thimerosal-autism theory currently under consideration
by a three-member panel of Special Masters, the
presiding justices in Federal Claims
Court. Keisler wrote that medical
personnel at the HHS Division of Vaccine Injury
Compensation (DVIC) had reviewed the case and "concluded
that compensation is appropriate."
The doctors conceded that the child was healthy
and developing normally until her 18-month well-baby
visit, when she received vaccinations against nine
different diseases all at once (two contained thimerosal). Days later, the girl
began spiraling downward into a cascade of illnesses
and setbacks that, within months, presented as symptoms
of autism, including: No response to verbal direction;
loss of language skills; no eye contact; loss of
"relatedness;" insomnia; incessant screaming; arching;
and "watching the florescent lights repeatedly during
examination.".
